Hello friends how are you ? So today i thought of doing an article on how you can assign you Windows machine a static IP in a network. The first question that comes in our mind is that why should i assign a static ip to my computer ? Which is a valid question to ask. There can be many reason like you are setting up a Testing Lab , Or Configuring your home network so it is easier to remember the IP of that computer.
Using static IP prevents the conflict between devices and allow you to manage them more easily. I will be covering this process on Windows 10 but it is same with any other version of Windows.
In the start menu search for Network and sharing setting and open it .
Open it and click on Change Adopter Setting :-
Then right click on your network and click on properties :-
Then click on the IPv4 settings and follow the rest.
That is how you can assign static ip to computer on your network.
